WFHB Tuesday Am Music Mix I: a two-hour free form acoustic mix show Tuesday mornings from 6-8am (EDT) While technically we play anything from classical to acid rock, my shows tend to be heavily folk/contemporary singer/songwriter oriented, mixed with some jazz, blues, and acoustic rock along with occasional poetry and performance pieces. I also program: Womenspace, a two-hour show from 9-11pm (EDT) on alternate Thursday nights featuring music by women singer-songwriters and performers of all genres and Roots For Breakfast, on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 8-10am with a predominantly folk and Americana focus.... Due to station policy Cds mailed to me at the station tend not to find me unless I catch them coming in... As I program the show from home (I like to put together themes) the best way to get music to me is: Carolyn VandeWiele Womenspace/Tue Am Mix/Roots For Breakfast 732 W. And you might want to join in, too: Non-lexical vocables like these (nonsense words often used in music) are sometimes more mood-boosting than a song's actual lyrics. According to Melanie McFarland, senior culture critic for Salon, "singing along with them can be one of the more effective natural and entirely free antidepressants around." I love the turn of the seasons and autumn is an extraordinarily beautiful time in the hills of South Central Indiana. But this year I find myself full of mixed feelings - bittersweet, grateful and expectant. It is as if I am watching from the doorway as summer strides over the western horizon, whistling a tune that sounds like Wood thrush and hummingbirds, wearing a wide brimmed hat covered with the summer stars, Vega, Deneb, and Altair. At the same moment I welcome Fall as it arrives walking carefully down the eastern slope, wearing a backpack full of newly harvested apples and pears, notebooks and school supplies, and the bright autumn constellations of Pegasus, Andromeda and Capella.
